Acts of plays under consideration for
a Bob Hammond Cycle,
five plays in French planned for the
2003-04 Paris season. Links to those

are summaries of those plays:
SOLITAIRE
A man in a room with neither door
nor window. The man awakens only to
find that he can understand neither
why he is in this room nor how he can
possibly leave it. He cannot even
remember his name. He turns to
imagining possible friends: a
man
then a woman.
THE
NURSERY
Georgie and Enos in their playroom.
Their single mother maintains order.
The boys are ageless. They act and
talk like little boys, but they
appear to be more in their late
teens, or even
.. The mother
seems to be only 20 years old. She
puts them to bed.
BETTY
AND BILL
Betty the 17 year old daughter
adopted by Bill in Germany end of
World War II. She is attracted to her
adoptive father. She returns from her
second college year in another town.
Her attraction to Bill matures. Then
she receives a phone call from an
unknown German man.

Blodget and Hewitt are G.I. buddies
at the end of their tour in Vietnam.
Blodget is white; Hewitt is older and
black. Hewitt has saved
Blodgets life. Blodget feel he
owes him something. Hewitt plays it
down as an accident of battle. Then,
in confidence, he reveals an ugly
secret from his civilian past.
LOTT
Wealthy farmer Lott lives with his
two fortyish daughters Candy and
Adele and a grandson Caleb, 20, farm
foreman. Andy, 19, grandson by the
other daughter, works in New York.
The daughters are single mothers.
Lott, turning 80, is preparing a
birthday celebration. Andy returns to
participate.
BON
VOYAGE
1960. Coswell plans to protest an
atom bomb test by sailing into the
test zone aboard his pleasure craft.
The crew includes a chaplin, husband
of Coswells secretary and
erstwhile sweetheart, a skipper
recruited by chance and a nurse. A
blind man intrudes. A miscalculation
produces a catastrophe.
AMY
Amy arrives in Paris to see old
friends and recuperate from a
near-death septicemia. Her host is a
former lover. She finds she has moved
away from him and closer to her
husband, also involved in the
septicemia event. But then there
appears a stranger who played a
mysterious role in the same event.
